How to Enable CDP on Cisco ASA By Puppet at 2009-01-08 11:33:30
|
If your not so new to Cisco and have used routing and switching hardware from Cisco before, then you are definitly familiar with Cisco's CDP protocol (Cisco Discover Protocol). You know how it can be helpful in efforts of discovery. A question has come up by an associate who made an effort to find the answer to how to enable CDP on a Cisco ASA 5505 or 5510.
The simple answer to this is that it cannot. The normal interface command that can be entered on a router to enable CDP (Cisco Discovery Protocol) is CDP enable. There's no command CDP anywhere on the Cisco ASA.
