Technical support companies trying to fulfill support obligations to existing customers and to continue to provide effective PC tech support to new customers have turned to a software niche which is really becoming a cornerstone of support departments toolbox. There are so many tools and utilities available but in this case the support tool that is helping so many companies keep their meet their SLAs and keep high customer satisfaction rates is PC remote support software . It's not the traditional LAN based PC remote support softwarethat anyone in the tech support field has been familiar with over the years such as Symantec's PC anywhere, this version of PC remote support software has gone beyond the borders of the local area network out to the WAN (wide area network) right to the Internet.
PC remote support is no longer limited by the boundary's of requirements such a being in the same office building or even part of the same security realm or domain (such as Microsoft's Active Directory Domain)which places an requirement on the desktop PCs and the administrators of the network to have their systems part of the same computer network security group.
Remote PC support on the web is faster than ever and has become one of the most useful and most utilized tool in the information technology. Use by computer and network hardware vendors and software developers. Even integrators have found remote support on the web to save countless hours of troubleshooting time and assists in faster desktop or server software problem resolution as remote tech support software allows for quick access and control of remote PC computer for diagnosing and resolving computer desktop and networking issues without having to dispatch a technician for every computer desktop or server support call.
Undoubtedly, a main reason for increased customer support resolution and client satisfaction within the realm of computer server and desktop support has been due in large part to remote computer access and remote support applications and solutions. As many sites offer services for remote PC tech support tools. Inherently the cost if providing computer technical support has decreased as the use of remote control applications for remote support has increased. The cost decrease is due in large part to the nature of PC remote control programs. They operate via web based sites and services that make them increasingly more accessible to all desktop users globally.
for Software for remote access and support of computers isn;t limited for use on end user systems or servers. Once connected to a computer on the remote network, a technician can access other systems that might need attention but may not have a direct connection to the internet and more importantly don't have an operating system that would facilitate remote access and control. These systems can be network switches, firewalls, IAD (integrated access device), spam filter appliances, network storage devices such as NAS or SAN systems like those made by NetApps. Other system can include printers plotters, IP enabled time clocks and any other devices.

By yon von rhinehardt at 2011-11-25 10:07:13 Another real useful support tool that has grown very popular and I have to admin I prefer to use instead of calling into support for a product is online chat or web chat programs. Online or web based chat is great for web sites to provide very quick and easy pre-sales support and even post support. Web based or live chat support is limited to computer products and software. It's can be used for nearly every type of product and service.

By yon von rhinehardt at 2008-03-12 16:01:00 I've seen support provided from computer server and desktop manufacturers like Dell, HP and others over the web. I don't see that if the large companies can provide support to compete, why can't the smaller shops have the opportunity. One of the prohibitive factors for smaller organizations to have web based PC remote support software to provide PC tech support through the web is the high cost of the packages a available to them. There are the brand names of remote support software applications that may have a larger market share but that doesn't always translate to a good ROI. There are other packages and online service to enable technicians to have a online application for computer support or better known by the phrase of computer remote support software. They may not the same glitter and shine but provide tech support of all sizes to provide their technical support and other services on-line and alternatively through installed desktop remote support and general remote support solutions, PC remote control software and applications.

Web based PC support is a invaluable tool for technical support specialist and application developers who have to support computer desktop applications and server database application from long distances. Since software developers and other application development companies distribute their applications to a world-wide market, their technical support needs to based on a platform that allows for long distance computer support. Long distance computer and server support is best served using web based computer support software. Microsoft LiveMeeting One of the PC remote support products I've used and seen for remote desktop support from the web is developed and distributed by Microsoft. It called Livemeeting and is part of the Live Office product line. Now many people grunt and grown when they consider another Microsoft application for use in their organization. This solution is a little pricey too but it works very nicely even though its initial design and strategy isn't for remote support but for online meetings and conferencing. As pc remote support software, it's a great additional feature of their product that's include. It allows for application sharing or full remote desktop viewing and control.
Software that provides computer technical support staff and help-desks remote access and control of computers through the Internet and on the LAN or private WAN like VPNs or point-to-point T1,E1 dedicated circuits. The support software gives the access to remote client computers through the Internet so they may provide remote technical support. Computer remote support software Remote Computer Support Software PC remote support software Supporting desktops and servers remotely by not requiring travel time to be on-site where the PC, desktop or server system is installed and operating saves a tremendous amount of time. ROI can be realized rather quickly. Connecting to servers or desktop comptuers through the web to provide support with computer remote support on the web without having to be on-site at the clients office allows for a tech support company, integration company, or support department to be more efficient and productive. Responce timea are shortend and by accesing comptuers using the Internet rather than traveling or talking the remote user through making configuration changes or diagnosing problems, save valuable time. By yon von rhinehardt at 2008-02-22 23:02:26 What may be a surprise to many who provide support to remote clients computer desktops is that Microsoft's LiveMeeting online conferencing and collaboration software also has built right into it web based remote support software. After remote sessions are established beteen the presenter and the remote clients, the clients or the presenter can enable application sharing. One of the applications that can be shared is the desktop itself. This lends itself to being an optimum tool for web based remote support. So not only can the presenter show their own desktop applications, but they can also have their remote desktop clients allow their computers to be accessed remotely and by doing so allow for web based remote support. Web based remote support software is an added surprise benefit from a conferencing and online desktop and application package but it's no surprise that Microsoft's LiveMeeting does it very well. The only drawback I saw during a real live support session with an application support comapnany that was using Microsoft's LiveMeeting software was that if the installer on the computer has a problem, the remote control software (the collaboration and online meeting software) doesn't install and from what I saw, there was no backup method for the remote desktop to connect into the live presentation session.

By yon von rhinehardt at 2007-12-28 10:45:55 computer remote support on the web Microsoft's ( Microsoft RDP )RDP, based on terminal server both in function and protocol is a useful tool for remotely accessing and remote controlling a computer from another on the web. Once of the strong points of RDP, found in windows XP pro and now in various versions of windows vista, the known fact that the protocol and it's and the program are both integrated with the operating system. This is a great advantage for for accessibility and access for computer remote support on the web. A disadvantage however is recognised in that the protocol and service have speed and features built right into the desktop and server implementations, the program for remote computer control works best within the corporate environment and for pc remote access and support of computers on the web, it can become cumbersome in many scenarios. Computer remote support on the web puts limitations, or more so, obstacles in the way of traditional computer remote control programs that were designed for use in a corporate environment. The sessions for computer remote control are started by the supporting computer so when a technical support person needs to reach or connect to a computer on the web that's located on another network, they find their connections blocked by the remote network's router or firewall. This leads to the requirement of port forwarding to bypass (or to create a hole for the data stream to pass through) on the remote network's firewall or router for the connection to be established.

By yon von rhinehardt at 2007-09-17 23:00:03 The pricing for some pc remote support software solutions is so outrageous. They're priced too high for the return you get., They may have alot of bells and whistles to their products but the majority of the time those software features aren't even used. Most of the time a tech needs to remote control a desktop through the web to provide support. Remote support software doesn;t have to be expensive and I think that some of the larger companies are begining to realize this and a making their products for remote support software on the web more comptative. I lso like your other post made earlier on the topic as well. http://jcsearch.com/blogs/ComputerSupport/91 Thanks.
